Running ABG Servers

On computers running Microsoft Windows operating systems and for which Start menu shortcuts were created during installation, do the following:
  1. Choose the Start button. A menu appears.
  2. From the menu, choose All Programs.
  3. Choose the ABGames folder. The folder expands in the menu.
  4. From the contents of the ABGames folder, choose Start ABG Server (Apache). The Start ABG Server (Apache) window appears.
On computers running Microsoft Windows operating systems and for which Start menu shortcuts were not created during installation, do the following:
  1. Navigate to C:\ABG\Apache2.2\bin.
  2. Execute httpd.exe. The C:\ABG\Apache2.2\bin\httpd.exe window appears.
On computers running other operating systems, start the Apache httpd server.

Network Configuration

To access the ABG server from other computers on a local network or on the Internet, configure your operating system, Web server, firewall, and other networking software and hardware as appropriate.

Stopping ABG Servers

On computers running Microsoft Windows operating systems, close either the Start ABG Server (Apache) or the C:\ABG\Apache2.2\bin\httpd.exe window.

On computers running other operating systems, stop the Apache httpd server.

Data Locations

On computers running Microsoft windows, the sub-directories of the ABG directory contain the following:
During typical use, you will not need to modify any files in these directories.

On computers running other operating systems, the contents of the /abg/server/data directory are the same as of the www directory on computers running Microsoft Windows operating systems.

The www or data directories contain the following:
During typical use, you will only modify files and/or directories in the games directory.
